AS Religious Studies

We teach three modules in theAS course (AQA Religious Studies).

Module I: An introduction to Religion and Human Experience

In the first part of the course there is a study of religious experience and its importance for faith, followed by a study of the Bible as a foundation for religious belief.

Module 4: An introduction to Religion and Ethics

This module examines religious ethics, comparing these with utilitarianism and Kant’s ethical theory. These theories are then examined as they may apply to particular moral issues: abortion, euthanasia, embryo research, transplantation, pollution, use and conservation of natural resources.

Module 6: An introduction to Religion and Science

This module looks at religious and scientific views of creation, miracles and design arguments for the existence of God.
