ICT Resources

Student in computer roomThere are approximately 420 networked computers around the College of which around 220 are purely for student use. These include:

  • 2 computer rooms for whole class teaching in the main school, each equipped with 25 machines and data projector linked to the teacher's computer. These are open to students when not in use for teaching.
  • A suite of 10 computers in the Music Department connected to keyboards for use with Sibelius music composition software.
  • A suite of 16 machines in the Sunley Design Centre mainly for use by the Art and Design & Technology Departments. These machines have larger screens and there is a data projector for teacher use.
  • 12 computers in the Library for research purposes
  • At least 5 computers in every House (8 or 9 in most) plus wireless provision for students to connect their own computers.
  • Clusters of computers in some departments - 4 in Design & Technology, 5 in Art, 8 in Geography, 4 in CT, 10 in Science, 10 in Modern Studies and 8 in Special Needs.
  • Dedicated video editing machines in the Art Dept, Theatre and ICT workshop.

Virtually all classsrooms are equipped with data projectors and around half have interactive whiteboards.
