Senior Debating Society
The Senior Debating society meets regularly throughout the year, usually on Wednesday or Sunday evenings and is open to all members of the Sixth Form. Motions this year have ranged from controversial topics such as This House Believes that Identity Cards are an assault on our civil liberties or This House Believes that the NHS has the right to withhold treatment to more light-hearted topics such as This House Believes that you should have gone to Sedburgh. In January the Inter-House balloon debate was held, which was won this year by John’s. Towards the end of the second term and in the third term, the Senior Inter-House debating competition is held. At present the champions are Edward’s/Wilfrid’s.
