Bosnia-Herzegovina
In Bosnia-Herzegovina, Face-Faw supports a Hampshire based charity called Miracles in their work with Matthew Procter MBE (W80), in helping with the continued poverty and injuries that have followed the war of 1992-95. In particular, the charity is supporting the building of a Prosthetic Unit near Mostar. Groups of Amplefordians visiting Medjugorje in October 2006 and in October 2007, visited the site with Matthew Procter. Ampleforth arranged a sponsored run in the Valley, covering the combined distance from Ampleforth to Mostar, an estimated 1887 kilometres. This 1887 event raised over £11,000 (including tax rebates).
Friendship and Aid to Central and Eastern Europe - Friendship and Aid for the World (Face-Faw) represents Ampleforth’s concern for the needs of the world.
