Romania
In Romania, Face-Faw has supported charities in their work with orphans, in particular charities linked with Peter Sidgwick (C97) and with Dominic McCann (O02). On leaving Ampleforth in 1997, Peter Sidgwick went to help with orphans in Romania, and shortly afterwards founded a charity, now called Liberis. Dominic McCann (O02) helps with Romanian Christian Humanitarian Foundation – UK Support for Romania [RCHF-UK]. Dominic McCann, the Secretary of RCHF-UK, and Brian Douglas, Director of RCHF-UK, have written a Report on behalf of RCHF-UK for Face-Faw. Brian Douglas wrote that at full capacity the running costs of RCHF-UK are £1,000 a month, and invited Face-Faw to help, especially as their former sponsor school had closed. “He wrote: “The doors are more than open to any form of collaboration that you might want to suggest to us”. Support can be given to Face-Faw (RCHF).
Friendship and Aid to Central and Eastern Europe - Friendship and Aid for the World (Face-Faw) represents Ampleforth’s concern for the needs of the world.
