Examinations

Pupils are under no obligation to take exams, but it is recognised that in most cases they provide a valuable incentive and measure of progress. The school enters pupils for exams administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and arranges each term for a visiting examiner to come to the school.

The higher grades (6, 7 and 8) earn points which are recognised by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and are sometimes taken into account by University Admissions Tutors. For more information about point accreditation visit the relevant page from the ABRSM website by clicking here.
