Masterclasses & Workshops

A vibrant masterclass series contributes much to an already flourishing instrumental programme at the college.

International artists, David Quigley (Concert Pianist and founder of the Birmingham International Piano Academy), Rosa Campos Fernandez (Principal Clarinet with Halle Orchestra), David Greed and Murray Greig (Principal Violinist and Principal Trumpeter with the Orchestra of Opera North) have been enthusiastically received by our young musicians.

Topics such as Effective Practice Techniques, Performing from Memory and Dealing with Performance Nerves have been discussed.

Alexander Technique seminars have supplemented these classes by encouraging students to become aware of their body posture in relation to instrument study.
