Rugby
The College offers opportunities for the students to participate in a full range of sports, but it is perhaps best known for the strength and ability of its rugby teams. Twelve teams can be fielded, and the depth of expertise and enthusiasm is impressive.
The Autumn term, in particular, is devoted to rugby for boys, though a range of other indoor and outdoor sports is always available.
The school has wonderful pitches throughout the valley.
The school boasts a fine tradition in both the XV-a-side and VII-a-side forms of the game. It plays regular fixtures against all the top northern rugby schools and competes regularly in the prestigious National 7-a-side competition held at Rosslyn Park. The school is the only school to have won both the Festival and the Open competition in the same year.
The Houses compete in a 15-a-side competition and a 7-a-side competition, held in the Autumn and Lent terms respectively.
