2010-11 Face-Faw Activities
Face-Faw has been invited to sponsor children from schools other than Ampleforth to come on retreat at Ampleforth. Face-Faw continues to help in the Diocese of Zanzibar in Tanzania, sponsoring 33 children in the school Francis Maria Libermann and supporting a new medical Clinic. Face-Faw supports Hope and Homes for Children through the Rowathon. It supports a student at the Manquehue Movement school of San Lorenzo in the shanty town area of Santiago in Chile. Face-Faw supports the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service and a local hospice. In Ethiopia, Face-Faw supports both the work of the Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity with the poor and sick, anfd the Cistercians in their schools. Face-Faw supports street children in Columbia. Face-Faw supports a village and blind centre in a village called Buigiri in central Tanzania. Face-Faw supports projects in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, South Africa and Uganda. It supports other projects both at home and overseas.
Events been planned in 2010-2011 include the Rowathon [4-6 March 2011] and the probable Rock Concert [probably May 2011].
Face-Faw is run by a Co-Ordinating Group [COG] and House Aid Teams [HATs].
