30 students complete Gold expeditions
9 girls and 21 boys from Year 12 in 5 groups have successfully completed arduous expeditions in the Cairngorm area of the Scottish Highlands as part of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. The weather was excellent throughout and midge problems minimal though high temperatures over the final 2 days exacted a certain toll of blistered feet and sunburnt arms on some participants.
The expeditions were the culmination of 12 months training in the classroom, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District.
