Confidentiality

It is our general practice to involve parents in all issues regarding their child’s health, just as they would be at home. Confidentiality is maintained at all times however ensuring that information is only shared to those in a “need to know” basis such as Houseparents, House Matrons and those “in loco-parentis”. The duty of confidentiality owed to a person under 16 is as great as that owed to any other person. Confidentiality cannot, however, be maintained in issues where the child is at risk of harm, regardless of age.

We encourage all students to discuss their health and medical care with their parents.
