Matthews rooms
The
Matthews Rooms is the official social home for the Remove where they may relax at mid-morning break or unwind after a full day of lessons and Games. The convivial surroundings provide the perfect atmosphere for our Year 11 boys and girls to interact within a friendly environment, safe in the knowledge that they are supervised and secure at all times. Both light reading and light refreshment are available in the mornings whilst the use of i-Pod speakers, Table Football, Table Pool, Wi-Fi and a variety of X-Box Games are accessible in evenings. Throughout the year each Boarding House in the Remove hosts its very own House Party where a Year 11 pupil may invite friends from other Houses to attend a special themed evening (which may be fancy dress, film night, etc.).
The Matthews Rooms are also employed at weekends for a variety of Social Events involving other year groups, such as Middle School Discotheques, DVD Nights, Sixth Form Quiz Nights and so forth.
We also host Charity events - for a variety of charities supported and endorsed by the college - whose popularity is mirrored by our students' commitment to the causes they wish fully to support.
The Matthews Room décor is a mixture of brown leather furniture and painting and murals painted by our Remove Students. We are always looking at new ways to keep our
Remove Students active, and to add to this we have a Remove Student Committee that brings forth new ideas for the Matthews Room and the
events we hold - both on campus and off.
